Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Environments Manager to spearhead environment management within a critical defence sector project. This pivotal role involves overseeing both cloud-based and on-premises systems, ensuring seamless integration, configuration control, and robust deployment processes. If you thrive in fast-paced, secure environments and possess deep expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and agile methodologies, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact in national infrastructure projects., * Proven experience managing large-scale, complex IT environments within integration programmes

  • Deep expertise in CI/CD pipeline management and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
  • Strong working knowledge of GitLab branching strategies and configuration control frameworks
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure models combining AWS Cloud and on-premises systems
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification (Certified Cloud Practitioner or higher) is highly desirable
  • Experience working within secure defence or government environments
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills in managing cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of SAFe Agile frameworks and complex change management processes

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with other cloud providers or additional infrastructure automation tools
  • Knowledge of compliance and governance standards in national security contexts

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Demonstrated success in managing similar environments for at least 5 years

Other Requirements:

  • Must hold UK security clearance (DV)
  • Ability to work during standard hours (37.5/week) in Farnborough
  • Flexibility to support project timelines and collaborative efforts across teams
