Job description

  • Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and on-premises platforms using Microsoft or Linux stacks.
  • Optimize infrastructure for security, performance, reliability and cost.
  • Work with Engineering teams to advance DevOps practices and closer collaboration.
  • Monitor systems, resolve issues, and implement solutions for high availability.
  • Maintain documentation and processes.

Requirements

A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and proficiency in automation are highly valued for this position. The role can be remote first with no fixed time in the office required. However, candidates will need to be located within reasonable travel time of the Portsmouth area where we operate physical infrastructure., * Proven experience in hybrid cloud engineering, infrastructure design, and system administration.

  • Broad understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure with deep expertise in select areas, such as networking or AWS.
  • Highly proficient in at least two of the following technologies :
  • Docker (AWS ECS)
  • Terraform, Ansible, or CDK
  • Nagios
  • Windows Server (IIS)
  • Linux
  • MS SQL Server
  • Networking (switching, load balancing and firewalls)
  • x86 server hardware
  • Familiarity with Cloudflare is highly advantageous.
  • Experience of working with commercially focused software engineering teams using Agile / DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; effective working independently and within teams.
  • Experience managing complex projects.
  • Exposure to ISO27001 or similar security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle. You will be required to travel to data centre locations in the south of England as needed.
