SIte Reliability Engineer

We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a massive Global Consultancy who require a Site Reliability Engineer for one of their clients. This will be a 6-month contract based in London., As a member of the Site Reliability team you will be part of the core Platform Operations function that is responsible for the day to day security, delivery and availability of our platform. Carrying out project work to continually develop, improve our service as well as responding to monitoring systems and 1st & 2nd line support escalations as required. Ensuring we meet or exceed our customers' expectations, contracted and agreed SLA's. You'll be expected to engage with all areas of the business including 1st/2nd line application support team, infrastructure team and our development team to help solve any issues that arise. This is a role focussed on supporting the delivery and service improvement of a leading software platform, prior experience working for a SaaS provider would be desirable.

Java Web Application development/support background Windows Server 2016, Powershell. DNS. Apache HTTP Web Server; installation, configuration, troubleshooting. SSL Certificates. Apache Tomcat; configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, JVM optimisation MS SQL Server 2016; understanding of SQL queries, maintenance plans, alerting Exposure and working knowledge of networking concepts Ability to analyse application and server logs, error interpretation

Essential Skills Typically 5 years' experience of supporting web application systems Experience of ITIL processes and practises Thorough and logical with attention to detail Good understanding of Infrastructure technical architecture Understanding of web server security and common threat methods

Desirable Skills Security focused: aware of the Cyber Security landscape and relevant certifications. (ISO27001, GDPR, HIPAA, Cyber Essentials) Experience working within a product-based SaaS company. Experience in a high-demand multi-project environment Developing and using logging and monitoring systems like Elastic/SPLUNK, LogicMonitor Experience with PowerShell DSC, Automation, Ansible, CHEF, Puppet etc Experience working in a virtualised environment Experience with SOLR, RabbitMQ
