Embedded Software Engineer

We have an opportunity for Flexible Pipe Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering worldwide offshore deep-water projects. Based in Basingstoke, you will join our clients Subsea Systems team and contribute to the full lifecycle of unbonded flexible pipe systems-from feasibility studies and FEED to execution and commissioning. This is an opportunity to shape innovative subsea solutions that support global energy initiatives., As Senior Engineer, you will:

• Develop and deliver technical documentation across all project phases (Conceptual, FEED, Tender, Contract).
• Oversee large EPCI contracts for offshore flexible pipe systems, ensuring compliance and quality during tender and execution.
• Guarantee designs meet project requirements, international codes, and industry best practices.
• Lead supplier engagement, including tender calls, qualification, and selection processes.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables from contractors.
• Collaborate across disciplines within the Subsea Systems department to drive integrated solutions.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, company internal procedures, and HSEQ policies.

We are looking for a highly skilled engineer with:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in flexible pipe engineering from concept through detailed design.
• Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with mechanical finite element analysis tools (Ansys, Abaqus, Cosmosworks).
• Familiarity with dynamic analysis software (Orcaflex).
• Knowledge of bonded flexible pipe technology (advantageous).
• Expertise in unbonded flexible flowlines, risers, and ancillaries, including topsides, subsea, and installation interfaces.
• Strong background in safety reviews (HAZOP, HAZID), risk assessments, and contractor/vendor supervision.
• Hands-on experience supporting offshore testing and commissioning.
