Digital Portfolio Director

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Group Managing Director to lead two well-established and growing businesses operating at the forefront of specialist construction fit-out/installation and manufacturing. Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, this role offers a unique opportunity to deliver the strategy, drive growth, and embed innovation across a diverse group.

The Group comprises a specialist manufacturing business producing innovative systems for use in controlled environments, serving high-growth sectors such as data centres, energy, and pharmaceutical, amongst others. Alongside this, the construction division is a specialist installation and fit-out contractor, delivering complex projects across similar markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy execution and hold divisional leadership accountable for performance.
• Drive operational efficiency, automation, and digitalisation across the group.
• Ensure strong financial performance with full P&L accountability.
• Develop high-performing teams and succession plans.

• Proven track record of growing businesses and delivering change as MD/Group MD
• Strong organisational, financial, and commercial acumen.Intellectual capacity to quickly learn what you need to, supporting and challenging the leadership teams of the two businesses and helping them deliver the strategy
• Experience as MD of a specialist installation and sub-contracting is particularly useful - understanding the challenges and risks, operational and financial that come with such a business. • Experience across a range of business sizes and ownership structures from SME to PE to large corporate. Experience of turnaround to growth to exit is especially useful

• Based within reasonable regular daily commuting distance of the South West UK or open to relocation. Living in or near Cardiff, Bath, Gloucester, or Swindon would be ideal.
