Senior Electronics Firmware Engineer

Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our client in recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics/Firmware Engineer. Working within the Research & Development division, this is a key role within the business and represents a great opportunity to join an exciting, innovative and growing organisation, Supporting R&D project work. This role reports into more senior engineers, project managers and the R&D Manager., To take responsibility for the electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production taking account of requirements, timescales, cost and regulatory constraints.

Necessary qualifications and training

• Degree (2:1) or higher (or equivalent)
• Digital, Analogue design experience.
• Embedded Programming Experience in 'C', VHDL
• C++, .net, C#, java, Python, or algorithm development an advantage
• Ideally existing work placement experience within a Design House or R&D department.
• Familiarity with CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout
• Can do attitude, inquisitive, willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.
• Ability to client face, good presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to take on other systems elements within a project such as thermals, optics etc an advantage.
• Strong, proven track record of design experience ideally 5 years / candidates with less experience will be considered if evidence of outstanding ability can be demonstrated.
• Hands on, Self motivated, willing to learn and help evolve the R&D department.

Our client offer attractive remuneration of £50-55K plus benefits, including 8% pension, life insurance and simply health medical plan. Working hours are 35 hours a week 8.30 - 5 and 8.30 - 1.30 on a Friday.
