Role: IT Support EngineerSalary: £27,000 - £35,000 (Dependent on Experience)Working Pattern: Office-based with regular site visits Location: Wigan This person will be responsible for delivering advanced technical support to clients both remotely and on-site. The role involves handling escalations from 1st Line, resolving complex technical issues, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of client systems and internal processes.Key Responsibilities:Provide remote and on-site IT support to clients. Resolve escalated issues across hardware, software, and network environments.Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.Support networking technologies including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VLANs.Assist with cloud services, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.Support endpoint and mobile device management solutions (e.G. Intune / MDM).Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Attend client sites as required. Key
Requirements
Requirements:Previous experience working for an MSP or within an education IT environment (schools, academies, or trusts).Proven experience in an IT Support role (1st/2nd Line).Strong technical knowledge of:Windows Server.Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).Azure AD / Entra ID.Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, Wi-Fi).A full UK driving licence (or equivalent) is required.
