Junior FPGA Engineer

Key ResponsibilitiesWork alongside software engineers and trading teams to design and deploy FPGA solutions across trading platformsDeliver FPGA applications end-to-end, including RTL design, synthesis, place & route, and static timing analysisDevelop and maintain shared testing and validation frameworksSupport FPGA-software integration by building APIs and optimising interfacesIdentify and propose practical solutions to FPGA, hardware, and system-level constraints

Required Experience & Skills2-3 years' experience in FPGA engineering within defence, aerospace, telecoms, or research-driven environmentsMinimum 2 years of hands-on, full-time FPGA development experienceStrong VHDL development capability with supporting Python skillsExperience working in Linux-based development environmentsSolid engineering fundamentals with good coding and design disciplineComfortable collaborating within multi-disciplinary teamsWorking knowledge of networking, computer architecture, and verification conceptsPrior exposure to C/C++ is beneficial but not essentialClear interest in technology-driven trading or financial markets Contact Ciara Clarke at Harrington Starr for a confidential discussion on this role.
