Job description

They are looking to hire a Software Engineer with strong Python experience and exposure to cloud and modern infrastructure tooling, to work on the development and evolution of secure software products.

This is a hands-on engineering role with involvement across design, development, testing and third-line support, working closely with other engineers and stakeholders across the business.

The role

  • Develop and maintain Python-based software products and bespoke solutions
  • Contribute to system design, technical specifications and documentation
  • Work within Linux environments and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Support cloud-based deployments (public/private cloud)
  • Investigate and resolve complex customer issues
  • Contribute to planning, estimation and continuous improvement
  • Provide third-line support when required

Requirements

Do you have experience in Terraform?, Essential

  • Commercial experience as a Software Engineer (Python)
  • Strong Linux experience (user level and troubleshooting)
  • Bash / scripting experience
  • Ability to contribute to technical design and solution thinking
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, engineering-led environment

Desirable

  • Cloud experience (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Infrastructure / DevOps tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins)
  • Frontend exposure (React)
  • Experience supporting production systems

Security & location

  • Must be UK-based
  • Able to obtain SC clearance
  • Hybrid working
