Job description
We're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure & Support Specialist to join our team at our Teesside facility. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical support with systems and infrastructure management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working closely with end users and stakeholders.
You'll play a key role in keeping our IT environment secure, resilient, and running smoothly while also supporting colleagues with day-to-day technical needs and larger project work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing advanced technical support via help desk tickets, phone, email, and in-person requests
- Managing, configuring, and supporting end-user devices (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices)
- Administering Active Directory (users, groups, permissions, devices)
- Supporting and maintaining Microsoft-based environments, including M365, Azure, VMWare, and virtualization platforms
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining network systems, hardware, and software
- Managing IT asset inventory and lifecycle (hardware, software, peripherals)
- Supporting workstation moves, system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations
- Acting as an escalation point for complex IT issues
- Working with vendors and suppliers to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair IT assets
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation, processes, and procedures
- Delivering technical training and knowledge transfer to IT team members
- Communicating complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users
- Participating in project planning and delivery across the business
- Providing out-of-hours and weekend support when required
Requirements
Do you have experience in WAN?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong experience with Microsoft operating systems, O365/M365, Azure, and networking technologies
- Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN, security protocols, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Experience with virtualisation (VMWare, Hyper-V), Citrix, and telephony systems
- Confident using Active Directory, password security, and asset management tools
Minimum 3 years' experience in:
- PC hardware/software support, deployment, and troubleshooting
- Supporting enterprise IT environments (networks, telephony, security)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust at all levels of the organisation
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
- Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience (preferred)
- MCSE or equivalent certification (desirable)
