IT Engineer

As an IT Engineer, you'll deliver and support technical solutions for our MSP clients, including onboarding new companies under ConveneIT support and maintaining existing environments.

You will also be assigned your owngroup of companies, taking ownership of technical projects within those organisations - planning, delivering, and seeing them through to completion. This provides an opportunity to build strong client relationships and develop deeper familiarity with their environments.

The role involves a mix of office-based work, remote support, and client site visits, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and hands-on technical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and support IT solutions for MSP clients
• Managing your own group of companies
• Work on IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, networking, and Microsoft 365 deployments
• Onboard new companies under ConveneIT support, including infrastructure setup, migration, and handover to support teams
• Provide 2nd / 3rd line support and technical escalation where required
• Install, configure, maintain, and document IT systems and environments
• Work primarily from the Salford office, with remote and on-site client work as needed
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation
• Ensure all work follows security best practices and company standards
• Assist with continuous improvement of systems, processes, and service delivery

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Virtualization?, * At least 5 years experience as an IT Engineer within an MSP or IT services environment

• Strong all-round technical knowledge of modern IT infrastructure
• Confident working in a client-facing role
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and time management abilities
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
• Full UK driving licence with business use insurance

Technical Skills (Core)

• Windows Server & Active Directory
• Microsoft 365 & Azure (Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune)
• Virtualisation (Hyper-V)
• Networking fundamentals (firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs)
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions

Desirable

• Azure infrastructure and migration experience
• Security technologies (MFA, Conditional Access, endpoint protection)
• Experience with MSP tools, RMMs, and ticketing systems
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, etc.)
