Job description

Plockmatic Group is seeking a Technical Documentation Writer to join our team in Poole. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning information about products into clear, user-friendly documentation that supports our high-quality products which are used worldwide.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining user manuals and laying out technical documentation that meets our organisational standards and supports our customers, service engineers, and internal teams. You will report to the Team Lead for Technical Documentation and collaborate closely with colleagues across several countries.

About the role

You will work with a wide range of documentation, including:

· Operator manuals

· Installation instructions

· Spare parts manuals

· Service manuals

You will be a key part of our development team, that test our products and can sit with you to explain how they work, you can then use established documentation as a guide and create operator guides or instructions based on the input from the development team. Your work will play a key role in ensuring customers understand the key features of our machines and how to use them, but also that through the instructions our machines are safe, easy to use, and efficiently serviced throughout their lifecycle., · Develop a strong understanding of machine functionality in order to produce clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation

· Maintain and continuously improve existing documentation, while also developing documentation for new products

· Create high-quality illustrations using 3D model viewers when available, or photographs when CAD models are not accessible

· Independently gather information by collaborating with internal stakeholders such as R&D, Technical Support, Product Management, and Logistics

· Manage multiple documentation projects in parallel and meet agreed deadlines

· Proofread your own work and support quality reviews of documentation produced by other team members

· Communicate progress and results with colleagues located in UK, Sweden, Portugal, and Latvia and USA

· Evaluate existing content and propose improvements to structure, clarity, and usability

· Test and evaluate new documentation tools and software when required

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical writing?, This is initially aimed as an entry level position to appeal to some one with good Graphic design application knowledge (InDesign), with some knowledge regarding technical writing for documentation, and an individual who can work with an established development team adapting previously created documentation as a foundation to create new manuals for new products, following the previous templates. However, we can adapt the role to suit an experienced individual looking for a stable position., · Excellent written English and good spoken English

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

· A positive, proactive attitude and a flexible approach to work

· Experience using Adobe InDesign

· Experience with the Microsoft Office suite

· Willingness to travel occasionally to other Plockmatic Group locations (primarily Stockholm, Milton Keynes, and Riga)
