Job description

This role sits within the IT Development and Delivery team; a centralised technical team that specialises in the management and maintenance of the core software used to deliver pension services to XPS customers and clients. We develop software in-house that we can tune to our own processes to give ourselves a competitive advantage. We run a development team that is focused on pragmatic approaches to real business needs., Any employment offer made will be conditional upon you satisfying DBS Disclosure checks, Employment or educational references, Satisfactory credit checks and eligibility to work in the UK before an offer can be made. Requirements

Do you have experience in Vue.js?, * We are looking for an experienced software engineer who is comfortable working at speed as part of a small inhouse development team, working across all application tiers - front end, business logic/services and database layers.

  • Ability and willingness to operate as part of an Extreme Programming (XP) team, working at speed on delivering incremental value.
  • Happy to work collaboratively with business experts and discuss solutions in a non-technical way
  • Must be able to wear multiple hats beyond writing code including unit tests, configuring Azure.
  • Must understand automated processes for building testing, documenting, and deploying web application at scale.
  • Objectives for the role will focus on team-fit, speed and quality of developed code

Technical skills required:

  • Front-end technology: Familiarity with a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Vue.js and Blazor.
  • Development Methods: Server-side programming with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies - ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core.
  • Knowledge of DBMS technology essential with an emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
  • Basic design ability: Knowledge of designing UI /UX.
  • Exposure to building and deploying Microsoft Azure Web App and services., * Extensive, proven experience as a Full Stack Developer (or in a closely related software engineering role) is mandatory.
  • Ability and experience to operate as part of a team, working at speed on delivering incremental value.
  • Comfortable pair programming, screen sharing, and presenting ideas to the team.
  • Whilst not a pre-requisite, knowledge and experience of the pensions market and/or working within a regulatory environment.
  • A working knowledge of modern system/cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure technology and its practical implementations.
  • Must have current and valid authorisation to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
