Job description

We're looking for an experienced PHP Web Developer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you'll build, improve and support WordPress websites and custom plugins for a range of clients.

You'll be comfortable owning work end-to-end: scoping requirements with clients, delivering robust solutions, and keeping sites secure, stable and maintainable.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites, themes and custom plugins
  • Support existing client sites: bug fixes, enhancements, performance improvements and updates
  • Work directly with clients to gather requirements and recommend pragmatic solutions
  • Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems and APIs
  • Collaborate with the wider development team on code quality, standards, tooling and delivery practices
  • Contribute to internal tools/products where appropriate

Requirements

Do you have experience in XML?, * Strong commercial experience with PHP and WordPress (build + ongoing support)

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining custom WordPress plugins
  • Solid experience with relational databases. MySQL and MS SQL are essential
  • Experience working with REST and XML APIs and integrations
  • Strong working knowledge of Git (GitHub and/or Azure DevOps)
  • Comfortable supporting production environments and troubleshooting effectively
  • Confident communication skills for direct client interaction

Nice to have

  • Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel
  • CI/CD knowledge and experience with modern DevOps practices
  • Experience across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Interest in expanding into other technologies

Benefits & conditions

  • Varied client work across builds, support, plugins and integrations
  • A pragmatic engineering culture that values clean code and practical solutions
  • Opportunity to shape standards and improve how we deliver
  • Highly competitive salary, dependent on experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
