Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Test Specialist to join our quality assurance efforts with the Test Manager for a critical Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation that enables a significant institutional digital transformation vision. The Test Specialist will be responsible for executing the testing strategy, managing test cycles, working with teams to help safeguard the quality of our outcomes and coordinating the activities of a virtual team from across the University engaged in quality assurance. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of a high quality ERP implementation and associated integrations by managing testing processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. You will work closely, and in partnership with, third party technical implementation partners (TIPs) to deliver on the overall holistic quality assurance approach, ensuring both suppliers and the University deliver on their testing objectives.
This role requires a good understanding of the approach and execution of testing for large scale enterprise application implementations, a strong background in software testing methodologies, and excellent communication skills., (Role holders will be required to undertake some or all of the duties below)
Role Specific Responsibilities
- E2E Test Strategy: Contributing to define, develop, and maintain a robust end-to-end testing strategy that validates core business processes (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire) across all integrated systems.
- Data Integrity Validation: Execute detailed integration tests to ensure data is accurately transferred, transformed, and maintained between systems into and out of our ERP.
- Service & API Integration: Design test cases specifically for testing REST/SOAP APIs and message queues to verify successful data exchange and handshake protocols between services.
- Workflow Verification: Utilize system-level diagrams (such as BPMN or flowcharts) to map complex user workflows and create corresponding E2E test scenarios.
- Defect Management: Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with clear, detailed steps and logs, ensuring high-quality bug reports.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Workday?, * Deep E2E Expertise: Proven experience designing and executing End-to-End testing for complex, multi-tiered applications, preferably within finance, or human resources domains.
- Integration Testing: Strong foundational knowledge of Integration Testing methodologies (e.g., top-down, bottom-up, Big Bang) and practical experience testing API integrations.
- Tools: Tools for API testing (Postman, Swagger).
