Job description
As Business Support Supervisor, you will lead your team to deliver a high quality service to customers. Working with professionals across Social Care and Preventative Services and Education, you will help ensure the best possible outcomes for children, young people and adults in South Gloucestershire.
The Business Support team collectively provides administrative and financial support and are based at any of our four sites, Badminton Road, The Kingswood Centre, Patchway Hub or Kingswood Hub. What you will be doing:
- Your primary focus will be supervising the Business Support Administration team. You will allocate and check their work to ensure the delivery of an efficient and consistent support service for staff and managers across the department.
- It will be your responsibility to organise and ensure sufficient staff cover, so the department can provide an effective service. This includes supporting staff development and overseeing the timely and accurate completion of work.
- You will manage the day to day needs of the department, including the specialised database, financial services and general administrative support requirements.
- It will be key for you to conduct research and collate information for reports, assisting officers in drafting documentation across a variety of work areas including children's and adults social service teams, education, special educational needs and health.
- Leading on customer relations, you will communicate any issues to senior members of staff and monitor and maintain records for the teams, which may include performance, sickness, annual leave etc.
- You will conduct 121s, PDPRs and assist with the recruitment of staff for the teams you supervise.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Supervising experience?, * We require you to hold a minimum qualification of 3 GCSEs (grade 4 or above), including English and maths or equivalent, or have experience of supervising staff within an administrative team.
- It is essential that you have strong communication and literacy skills to be able to contribute to writing clear, accurate and concise reports.
- To be able to meet deadlines, you must have the ability to prioritise workloads to meet peaks in demand and be flexible and resilient.
- You need to be able to collate information from a variety of sources and present your findings.
- You will have effective IT and numeracy skills, including the ability to accurately update information systems and databases.
Benefits & conditions
- Your salary will be pro-rated to hours worked.
- Working days will be Wednesday 13:30 - 17:00, Thursday 08:45 - 17:00 and Friday 08:45 - 16:30.
- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and working from home.
