FPGA Engineer

Contract: 6-9 months, outside IR35, rate DOE, Glasgow, 2 days on-site, * Support in the design of Altera FPGA firmware for an embedded medical device

• Work with an Agilex 5 SoC, focusing on the FPGA/fabric side
• Implement high speed data protocols, potentially including LPDDR4x, serialised ADC data over LVDS, AXI bus
• Write testbenches for FPGA design verification
• Simulate and verify functionality of the design
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary technical team to reduce the technical design timeline
• Documentation of design to meet requirements of ISO13485 (Quality management system for medical devices)

• Knowledge of FPGA development, particularly Altera FPGAs
• Quartus & Modelsim/Questasim
• VHDL
• Testbench design, both module and top-level
• RTL and gate-level simulation of testbenches
• Revision control systems, particularly Github
