Job description
We are creating a new in-house development team and are looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead the delivery of our mobile and web data-capture applications. This is a key role responsible for taking ownership of an existing platform, improving its stability, and guiding a long-term modernisation roadmap that will support both field teams and head-office users.
You'll lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team and work closely with a newly appointed Product Owner to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly applications that meet the needs of a fast-moving operational business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mobile, web, and backend developers.
- Take ownership of the existing data-capture platform and drive its stabilisation and improvement.
- Define a clear technical and architectural roadmap focused on modernisation and long-term growth.
- Set engineering standards and oversee code quality, testing, DevOps practices, and release processes.
- Work with the Product Owner to translate business needs into actionable delivery plans.
- Ensure performance, reliability, accessibility, and security across all applications.
- Build a positive engineering culture focused on collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate progress, risks, and technical considerations to stakeholders across the business.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Software development?, * Proven experience managing software development teams delivering mobile and/or web applications.
- Strong technical grounding (ideally with .NET and Azure, or similar modern frameworks).
- Experience adopting and improving an existing application or platform.
- Good understanding of Agile delivery practices and DevOps principles.
- Confident communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing teams.
