Job description
Take full ownership of automation strategy, framework evolution, and release readiness across complex telecom systems.
High-Impact Transformation Drive measurable improvements in automation coverage, execution time reduction, and production stability across customer-facing and operational platforms.
Hybrid Flexibility Work in a balanced hybrid model combining collaborative onsite engagement with remote flexibility., * Define and lead enterprise-level test automation strategy across UI, API, integration, and data validation layers.
- Design and implement scalable hybrid automation frameworks (POM, BDD, data-driven) aligned with telecom platform complexity.
- Increase regression automation coverage (targeting 90%+) while reducing manual regression cycles and execution time from days to hours.
- Apply risk-based automation approaches to prioritise critical customer journeys, billing flows, network operations workflows, and integration touchpoints.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), enabling early defect detection and continuous testing.
- Establish quality gates, release readiness reporting, and stakeholder-level test metrics for go/no-go decisions.
- Reduce flaky tests and improve framework stability through reusable utilities, environment stabilisation, and structured code reviews.
- Lead and mentor automation engineers, defining standards for maintainability, test data management, and governance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders to translate telecom requirements into testable acceptance criteria.
- Influence "testability by design" by advising on API contracts, logging, validation hooks, and data traceability.
- Support AI-assisted testing initiatives, including intelligent test case generation, automation optimisation, and defect pattern analysis where applicable.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Test-driven development?, This contract role is ideally suited to a Senior Automation Test Lead with a strong background in automation architecture, CI/CD integration, AI-assisted testing, and risk-based quality governance. You will take ownership of E2E quality across releases, driving automation maturity, reducing regression cycles, and enabling faster, more predictable deployments., Automation Leadership & Strategy
- Proven experience leading automation initiatives across multiple releases.
- Strong background in quality governance, sprint-level quality ownership, and release risk assessment.
Framework Design Expertise
- Hands-on expertise in Selenium, Playwright, and/or Cypress.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Experience embedding automation into continuous integration pipelines.
- Cloud-based test execution and parallelisation exposure.
Data & Environment Stability
- Experience in test data management, environment control, and reducing non-deterministic failures.
Stakeholder & Governance Strength
- Comfortable presenting automation metrics, coverage analysis, defect trends, and release-readiness insights to senior stakeholders.
- Strong experience in requirement traceability, root cause analysis, and defect triage leadership.
Telecom / High-Volume System Experience (Advantageous)
