Senior Machine Learning Engineer

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will take a leading role in designing, building, and running Merqato's forecasting systems in production. You will work end-to-end, from data ingestion and feature engineering to model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement., * Design, implement, and maintain time-series and causal forecasting models for demand, supply, and pricing

• Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines, including feature stores, training and validation workflows, CI/CD for models, and automated retraining
• Implement monitoring and observability for models (data drift, performance tracking, explainability)
• Design and manage cloud-native ML architecture (preferably on Azure) that is secure, scalable, and maintainable
• Define and promote ML engineering best practices within the team
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust ML solutions

This role is ideal for an experienced ML engineer who enjoys working hands-on in a scale-up environment and wants to grow toward technical leadership., * 6+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models into production

• Strong ML and software engineering skills (clean code, testing, CI/CD, data pipelines)
• Solid experience with time-series forecasting, feature engineering, backtesting, and uncertainty estimation
• Hands-on experience with Python and frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, Prophet, or TensorFlow, as well as SQL, Pandas, and Spark
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and MLOps practices
• Strong ownership mindset and excellent communication skills
• Experience in a scale-up or product-driven SaaS environment is a plus

• Competitive salary (€70,000 - €85,000 per year, depending on experience)
