Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.

To lead on the development, communication, implementation, maintenance and ongoing review of the CWA Safety Management System (SMS). Ensures the CWA SMS remains suitable and sufficient to manage the risk associated with the work being undertaken and supports the delivery teams to achieve operational excellence in respect of Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
Supports the Head of HSW and wider functional team in the development of a suitable and sufficient Safety Management System (SMS) for the CWA.
- Liaise with the Integrated Management System (IMS) development team in the lead up to the launch
of the CWA IMS.
- Monitors legislation, client and parent companies for any changes that impact the CWA SMS.
- Support the implementation of and ensure compliance with the CWA Safety Management System
(SMS) through engagement and assurance.
- Able to prepare fact driven reports following engagements and audits of the CWA SMS.
- Able to build relationships with the CWA project teams and wider interested stakeholders.
- Ensure that lessons learned from monitoring, events and or from the Alliance parent companies are communicated and adopted into the CWA SMS.
- Supports the implementation of the Nuclear Safety message during engagements with the whole CWA team.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft PowerPoint?, * Able to plan and manage workload for self and for the team.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
- Ability to influence and promote a positive HSW culture, by providing constructive feedback to others
around their performance, strengths and development needs.
- Able to engage at all levels within the CWA operational team structure.
- Has a good understanding of UK Health and Safety Legislation.
- Able to use data and information for the preparation of HSW SMS reports.
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Managers and Professionals competence
Desirable
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good presentational skills.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Experience with using and developing health and safety management systems.
- Experience of managing people / direct reports
Desirable
- NEBOSH DIPLOMA or NVQ Level 6 In Occupational Health and Safety
- Has previous experience in a Health and Safety role with relevant construction related or
transferable skills.
- Minimum Grad IOSH.
