Job description
As a Design Coordination Engineer, you will be working within our Construction team based in Bath with travel throughout the Wessex Water region, which covers the area of Bristol, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bridgwater, and everything in between.
What you'll do
Within the role, you will report to the Project Manager, where you will be responsible for the implementation of Engineering Schemes, ensuring all relevant scheme information is collated so that Construction, Electrical and Mechanical teams can carry out works to programme.
This is a challenging role that demands effective communication with all internal and external clients, including arranging and attending meetings as required.
Your main responsibilities include:
- overseeing all phases of engineering schemes according to NEC3 contracts
- providing technical assistance within the design phase, suggesting recommendations when required
- conducting design reviews and analysing data to develop and implement strategies
- managing work packages, ensuring adherence to client specifications, programme, and budget
- liaising with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal departments
- attending meetings on various sites and reporting on project milestones
- ensuring health and safety documentation is in place throughout the project
- ensuring adherence to safety regulations and environmental compliance
- completing governance documentation and presenting when required to key stakeholders in the business.

Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Office?, You will be an excellent communicator and be able to communicate complex topics to a range of people with varying knowledge and understanding.
In addition, you'll have:
- relevant engineering degree/equivalent certificate, or solid, time served experience
- experience in water utility or similar construction industry
- demonstrable experience in working independently and analysing large volumes of information (drawings, data and specifications)
- project risk management skills, including within safety, environmental, process, programme, and budget
- experience working with Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM)
- experience in building good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- business and/or commercial awareness
- computer literacy, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
Due to the nature of the role, a valid driving licence is essential. You will need your own vehicle, but business mileage will be reimbursed.
