As a data engineer, your responsibilities include working closely with colleagues to ensure results.
- Define, formalise, and document clear OTL-CIM compliance rules by interpreting IEC standards into verifiable and actionable data requirements.
- Develop and implement a structured, testable compliance framework to evaluate OTL conformity and generate measurable compliance reports.
- Establish, document, and enhance end-to-end data lineage between OTL (specification layer), CIM models, ERP, GIS, and related data exchange processes, pinpointing transformation points and integration gaps.
- Expand OTL compliance requirements to enterprise systems and information models (e.g., SAP, ArcGIS, EU 30x), ensuring structural consistency and traceability.
- Enhance knowledge management and governance by documenting processes, supporting internal capability development, and fostering sustainable ownership of OTL and lineage practices.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Asset Data Models and Structure Team as a Data Engineer for our ERP systems. In this key role, we are looking for a colleague to formalize and implement compliance between its Ontology and the Common Information Model (CIM) based on IEC 61970 and IEC 61968. The role also involves enhancing data lineage among OTL, asset repository systems, and data exchange processes, including platforms like SAP and ArcGIS., * This position requires an HBO working and thinking level and a relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification.
- You have profound working experience in data engineering, preferably in the utilities or energy sector.
- You have sound experience in data modeling, data integration with ERP (e.g., SAP PPM - S4/Hana) and GIS (e.g., ArcGIS), and implementing standard-based data structures such as IEC CIM (61970/61968).
- You have professional programming and ETL skills and ensure the clients interests even in complex data transformation and integration projects.
- You show independence, initiative, and the ability to work in a team. This is for you just as natural as strong communication skills and very good English skills.
