Job description

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of backend solutions, from design decisions through delivery and ongoing improvement in production
  • Working closely with product managers, engineers, and technical stakeholders to design pragmatic, scalable systems
  • Writing clean, maintainable, high-quality code with a strong focus on long-term sustainability
  • Contributing to engineering standards, patterns, and continuous improvement across the team

Tech environment

You'll be working in a modern backend environment that includes:

  • C# using the latest .NET LTS versions
  • Azure-based services
  • Asynchronous messaging (e.g. Service Bus, RabbitMQ)
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • SQL Server, cloud storage, and Redis
  • Microservices and clean architecture principles
  • CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

The team works across a mix of established and evolving services, modernising existing platforms while building new backend capabilities.

Requirements

This opportunity is well suited to experienced backend engineers who enjoy ownership, technical influence, and working closely with product and engineering peers in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment., * Strong backend software development experience, ideally with C#/.NET, or a comparable backend language with the ability to pick up C# quickly

  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Experience working in product-led or platform teams
  • Comfortable working in environments where requirements evolve
  • A mindset focused on quality, ownership, and continuous improvement

Desirable, but not essential

  • Experience with distributed or microservices-based architectures
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments
  • Interest in mentoring or supporting other developers
