Job description
The IT Support Assistant provides 1st and 2nd line technical assistance and service to colleagues.
This position will be responsible for resolving day to day IT issues, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting a range of software and equipment across our network.
Rolling out equipment to new employees, setting up new user accounts and participating in IT Support Helpdesk related activities., * Assist in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure to ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the business with minimal downtime of all services for both local and remote colleagues.
- Providing effective 1st line support. Including printer issues, Mac and Windows system issues, mobile devices and WiFi problems across all areas of the business.
- Ensure that services meet company requirements and are delivered to agreed standards with appropriate documentation maintained
- Ensure technical issues are being dealt with and resolved with a focus on exceptional customer service.
- Set up accounts and devices for new users including domain, email, Office 365
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems, appropriate software and cabling where necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role with a good level of application and network support experience.
- Knowledge of network connectivity, protocols, network security devices, network types, including wireless, and common operating systems - Windows and Mac
- Working knowledge of a range of general diagnostic utilities.
- Robust troubleshooting and strong analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Strong documentation skills
- Proven experience demonstrating the principles of excellent customer service
- Able to handle multiple competing priorities whilst possessing a high level of discipline, professionalism and flexibility.

- Confidence working with MAC OSX and pc is also essential for the role.
- Active Directory 2008 and 2012 server, Window 7, OSX, IOS
Qualifications
- 2 - 4 years industry experience
- Some level of Industry qualification eg- MCP, MCSE or A+, Network + is an advantage
