Job description
Job Description: The Race Systems Technician plays a crucial role in MRTC's customer-facing operations, providing global on-site and remote technical support to motorsport and event-based customers in both individual and team environments. The role requires subject-matter expertise in a variety of communication systems, ensuring that MRTC's wide range of equipment performs flawlessly under demanding conditions.
In addition to assisting with Level 3 remote support, the Race Systems Technician is responsible for system management and coordination, implementing thorough documentation and resolution tracking. By building customer relations and providing cutting-edge technical solutions, this role also ensures that MRTC remains at the forefront of the communications industry.
Role Expectation: As part of MRTC's Race Support team, the Race Systems Technician is required to travel extensively to a range of motorsport venues. The role also demands adaptability, working out of hours (evenings and weekends, at an enhanced rate) aligned with racing schedules, and performing in all weather conditions. The position involves interfacing directly with race drivers, racing teams, suppliers, and organisations under the intense pressure of competition, where technical solutions can make the difference between success and failure on track.
This physically active role requires stamina for long days on site, the ability to lift and move equipment, and the capacity to communicate effectively, even in high-pressure, high-noise environments. The fast-paced nature of motorsport means that applicants for this role must be able to troubleshoot quickly with limited resources, making critical decisions in real-time during practice, qualifying, and race sessions.
Responsibilities:
· Lead individual trackside and remote technical support for high-profile customers in motorsport and events.
· Liaise and manage customer relationships, both pre- and post-event, offering technical solutions and encouraging business growth.
· Configure radio systems, intercom networks, and associated equipment live at event locations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve communication equipment issues in real time.
· Manage small-to-medium-sized events, utilising time prioritisation to support multiple customers and their communications systems at event locations.
· Build, test, and certify a wide variety of communications systems before deployment.
· Manage and maintain race support inventories to ensure up-to-date stock levels on site.
· Perform training for customers with regard to proper use and logical troubleshooting of systems., Job Title: Protec Fire Alarm Engineers (Subcontract) Location: Derby / Leicester / Nottingham Contract: 3 Months Initial (with option to extend) Start Date: Within 3 Weeks Status: Outside IR35The Role We are looking for two experienced Fire Alarm Engineers with Protec..., We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Structural Technician to work as part of our Design team.
