Job description

Join Freshfields' Public Cloud & Identity Platform team and help shape the future of our cloud platforms. This is a growing function at the heart of our LegalTech strategy, delivering secure, scalable and innovative platforms that underpin the firm's digital solutions worldwide., We are looking for a Public Cloud Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform experience to design, build and support modern cloud platforms, and to drive our "cloud first" strategy.

What you'll do

Design, build and enhance our GCP and Azure platforms to support highly available, scalable and secure enterprise applications.

Contribute to the full lifecycle of our cloud technologies, ensuring platforms remain supported, evergreen and aligned to firm-wide strategy.

Define and uphold cloud standards, policies and best practices, working closely with critical stakeholders across the firm.

Automate routine operational tasks and develop orchestration workflows to deploy, configure and update cloud services.

Support smooth transition of new services into live, with minimal impact on existing platforms.

Provide incident and problem management support, reporting risks, issues and opportunities to senior stakeholders.

Collaborate closely with developers, subject matter experts, cloud administrators, system administrators and architects in a fast-paced Agile environment., Impactful work - you will play a key role in advancing our LegalTech and cloud-first strategy at a leading international law firm.

Requirements

In-depth experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure and services.

Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and container technologies.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (e.g. Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM, DSC).

Scripting skills in modern languages and familiarity with version control (e.g. Git).

Experience with web app, API and function hosting, plus infrastructure for databases.

Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to advise, influence and build strong relationships across diverse teams and locations.

A proactive, delivery-focused approach, with the ability to solve complex problems and manage change.
