Job description

Exalto Consulting is supporting a well-established organisation in Halifax that relies on secure, reliable devices to keep their teams productive. They are looking for a hands-on Laptop Build Engineer to ensure their laptop estate is consistently up to date, compliant, and running smoothly. This is a practical, on-the-ground role for someone who enjoys keeping technology working exactly as it should. What You'll Do In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the day-to-day health of the organisation's laptop builds. Your focus will be on smooth operations, quality, and security. You will be responsible for;

  • Building, configuring, and maintaining laptops to agreed standards
  • Ensuring devices remain secure, compliant, and fully patched
  • Troubleshooting build issues and resolving them promptly
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to imaging and deployment processes
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure users receive well-built, reliable devices

Requirements

  • Experience building and configuring Windows laptops in a corporate environment
  • A practical understanding of security and compliance standards
  • Confidence managing build tools, imaging solutions, and deployment workflows
  • A methodical approach and an eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills and a people-focused attitude
  • The ability to work onsite in Halifax three days per week
