Working in a highly visible and business-critical position, the IT Manager will take ownership of the organisation's IT environment, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and fit for a fast-paced, engineering-led business. This is a varied role combining hands-on technical involvement with strategic responsibility. You'll work closely with an external Managed Service Provider, managing performance and delivery, while also supporting and developing internal IT capabilities. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving infrastructure across multiple sites, while contributing to longer-term IT strategy aligned to business growth., Responsibilities will include overseeing IT infrastructure (servers, networks, endpoints), managing software and vendors (including ERP, CAD, and SaaS systems), ensuring strong cybersecurity practices (including Cyber Essentials Plus), and supporting a wide range of stakeholders across engineering, R&D, and operational teams. Requirements
Whilst enthusiasm and a proactive, hands-on approach are key, it is hoped that the successful IT Manager will have:
- Proven experience in an IT Manager / IT Lead role
- Strong technical background across infrastructure, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure
- Experience managing IT environments across multiple sites
- Experience working with or managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
- Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus)
- Experience managing software vendors and systems (ERP, CAD, SaaS, etc.)
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or R&D environment would be highly beneficial.
