About the jobThe Data Access teamis looking for a Sr Associate Software Developerwho'll work onstandardizing and simplifying data source connectivity on the Viya platform for SAS solutions. Our teamworks heavily with third party databases requiring us to stay up to date on industry standards, use latest technology, and be creative with our implementations. As a Sr Associate Software Developer, you will: Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D and product management to ensure timely and successful delivery. Participate in project scoping, scheduling, and progress tracking; proactively identifying, reporting, and resolving blockers. Ensure code quality through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, regression) and close collaboration with SDETs. Maintain accountability for the full software lifecycle, including support for internal and external consumers. Contribute to technical documentation in partnership with technical writers. Embrace continuous improvement and innovation in tools, processes, and code quality. Develop and maintain automated systems dedicated to ensuring quality assurance and performance analysis. Provide comprehensive support to internal users regarding API and software utilization through coding examples, detailed documentation, and informative presentations. Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals. Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do. Required qualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in software development. Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related quantitative field. Experience working with programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, Rust or C/C++. Demonstrated proficiency in C Experience utilizing SQL to query, analyse, and manipulate data across relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server). Strong understanding of concepts related to data structures, and programming practices. A clear understanding of the product development life cycle and project management. Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all levels of staff. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and change direction quickly Proof of right to work in UK is required to be considered for the role Preferred QualificationsExperience with Kubernetes and Docker Experience working with Git Basic understanding of Linux Knowledge of cloud technologies and experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with SAS products, solutions, and programming language.
