PHP Developer

Purpose of the role: The organisation is looking to develop a number of client facing planning tools to work as a specifier tool for various parts of the business including roofing solutions. These solutions will be used globally.

• Development of international digital business application tools
• Project delivery to ensure effective and timely delivery of applications
• Maintain and improve existing and future in-house web / software developments.
• First line application support for UK and international developed applications

Function: Software development team which sits within the wider technology function.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

• Development and delivery of online application tools which are both external and internal facing
• Learn and understand the architecture of our defined technical ecommerce environment
• Work with nominated third parties to manage development support and delivery of defined scope of works
• Examine, learn and understand our current systems, web / software developments.
• Work internally with colleagues and existing 3rd parties to improve data accuracy, processes and reporting.
• Maintain business continuity of our in-house web / software developments.
• Work with end-users to discuss and understand scope of requirements to ensure the business requirements are fully supported.
• Provide end user training and support for our in-house web / software developments.
• Regularly review, report and maintain security and data integrity of our web / software developments.
• Analytical reporting using various tools.

• Education Requirements: Of degree calibre
• Experience Requirements: Capable PHP development skills
• Qualifications: Any industry related PHP / Zend, Essential:
• Fluent PHP developer
• MySQL and/or SQL database skills required.
• Knowledge of these additional languages desirable - HTML5 / CSS / Javascript / Jquery.
• Agile working methodology experience
• Commercial developer experience.
• Must enjoy the challenge of learning and implementing new skills and techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable and part of a team.
