3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

We ensure the smooth running of complex and distributed systems and implement solutions to maintain system reliability, security, performance and scalability.

This role lies within the IT Operations team and is pivotal in supporting and delivering the IT infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure team complete the full design, implementation and BAU stages of IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on role in an extremely high performing team, covering a plethora of infrastructure technologies for both day to day support and maintenance and end to end project delivery., * Working within an ITIL led environment across all disciplines (Incident / Problem / Change / Capacity Management etc.).

• Championing and taking responsibility for the internal and external IT infrastructure including hosting/operations, availability management, capacity management, backups and disaster recovery/continuity planning.
• Working collaboratively with other members of infrastructure, service desk and wider IT / business teams, ensuring both designed purpose and operational effectiveness of the infrastructure delivered and/or supported.
• Quickly understanding and taking the lead in new infrastructure and technology, learning new technical skills where appropriate and watching external trends
• Always achieving SLA adherence on infrastructure hosted systems.
• Acting as a technical authority of infrastructure, both internally and externally customer facing, helping the business to quickly and effectively solve infrastructure related issues.
• Completing infrastructure project and work package requirements to time, excellent quality and within standards.
• Ensuring infrastructure vendors perform as expected

Infrastructure related, vocational certification in at least 1 of the following vendors products; Microsoft, RedHat, VMware, Azure, AWS., Microsoft, RedHat, VMware, PaloAlto, SQL, AWS, Azure, On Prem & O365 Exchange, Veeam, Patching Solutions, Nimble, * Experience within a 3rd line enterprise IT infrastructure support/project team

• Design and support experience of at least 3 of the following; Microsoft, RedHat, VMware, PaloAlto, SQL, AWS, Azure, On Prem & O365 Exchange, Veeam, Patching Solutions, Nimble or similar storage solutions, Infrastructure Hardware Experience.
• Insatiable appetite for learning new infrastructure technologies.
• Exceptional communication skills and customer focus.
• Proven project delivery experience in an environment with little management or supervision.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable ability to train and teach others.
• Ability to work to best practices frameworks.
• Availability for Infrastructure team`s On-call rota.
