Job description
- Diagnose complex faults across a wide range of vehicles
- Identify and resolve electrical, electronic, and software-related issues
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and systems
- Interpret wiring diagrams, fault codes, and live data
- Support other technicians with difficult diagnostic cases
- Carry out repairs following diagnosis where required
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
- Experience using advanced or dealer-level diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently and solve complex faults
- Experience across multiple vehicle brands
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
- MOT Tester licence beneficial but not essential, * How many years of diagnostic experience do you have?

About the company
We are a busy, well-established independent garage and MOT station based in Waltham Abbey. Our team currently consists of 3 mechanics, 1 MOT tester, and 1 office administrator. We have a strong and consistent workflow, and we are now looking to strengthen our team with a highly skilled Diagnostic Technician. The RoleThis is a specialist role focused on advanced diagnostics-not general servicing or routine mechanical work. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex faults, particularly electrical and software-related issues, and supporting the wider team with problem-solving.
