Job description

We're looking for a Senior Shopify Developer who can take end-to-end ownership of our Shopify ecosystem-from storefront experience to backend architecture and integrations. This is not a front-end-only role. You will be responsible for building, scaling, and optimising a full-stack e-commerce infrastructure, ensuring our platform is high-performing, conversion-focused, and operationally robust. You will work closely with marketing, product, design, and operations teams to translate commercial goals into scalable technical solutions, while driving continuous improvements in performance, user experience, and conversion rates. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ownership-driven environments, can move fast without compromising quality, and is comfortable operating across both frontend experience and backend systems., * Own and lead the Shopify ecosystem end-to-end (frontend + backend + integrations)

  • Build and optimise high-converting storefronts with a strong focus on UX, speed, and scalability
  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes and headless storefronts (Next.js)
  • Lead API integrations, middleware architecture, and backend services supporting Shopify
  • Drive conversion rate optimisation (CRO) through experimentation, performance improvements, and user behaviour insights
  • Improve and maintain Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) and overall site performance
  • Execute and manage platform migrations (e.g., Magento to Shopify) where required
  • Implement and manage third-party integrations (payments, subscriptions, analytics, CMS, POS, etc.)
  • Build and optimise inventory workflows and backend systems, aligned with operational needs
  • Ensure Tech SEO, accessibility, and cross-device optimisation across the platform
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Monitor platform performance during high-traffic periods and critical trading windows
  • Act as a technical lead and mentor, setting development standards and best practices
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and automation opportunities

Requirements

Shopify & Architecture

  • Deep expertise in Shopify (Liquid, themes, APIs, app integrations)
  • Strong experience with Headless Shopify (Storefront API - GraphQL)
  • Understanding of Shopify data models (Products, Variants, Metafields, Metaobjects)

Frontend

  • Strong proficiency in Next.js, React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with SSR, SSG, ISR and performance optimisation techniques

Backend & Integrations

  • Solid experience with Node.js (Express/Fastify)
  • API design and integrations (REST / GraphQL)
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Ability to design scalable middleware between Shopify and backend systems

Cloud & DevOps

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, CloudFront, Lambda, ECS, RDS)
  • CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and deployment best practices

Performance & Optimisation

  • Proven experience improving conversion rates and site performance
  • Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, caching, CDN, and media optimisation

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Shopify Plus and multi-region e-commerce setups
  • Exposure to inventory-heavy businesses (eyewear or similar)
  • Familiarity with analytics, GTM, and tracking systems
  • Understanding of security best practices (CSP, WAF, etc.)
  • Experience with AI-driven tools or automation in e-commerce, * Someone who takes ownership beyond execution-you don't wait for tickets, you identify and solve problems
  • Strong ability to balance speed with long-term scalability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • A developer who understands that great code = business impact (conversion, revenue, experience)

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • Employee discounts on Specscart products.
  • A vibrant and supportive work environment.
  • Contribution to a dynamic team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
