Job description

To work with and on behalf of the Safety Reporting and Development Manager in the development, implementation and management of the corporate health and safety programmes directly into the Transport for Wales (TfW) business, ensuring everyone has a healthy and safe working environment and access to professional advice and assistance.

Role responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact within safety to collaborate with the Infrastructure Management (IM) Team, on all safety related matters.
  • Manage the contract for our Personal Track Safety Training (PTS) by ensuring that records and training are up to date and compliant and being the single point of contact for all PTS queries, training requests and relevant administration to comply with TfW Standards.
  • Be responsible for the ordering and issue of personal protective equipment (PPE) by liaising with procurement, contacting third party suppliers and raising the appropriate Purchase Order (PO) to ensure all site staff are compliant with Health and Safety standards.
  • Monitor and maintain IM Close Calls and Accident/Incident reporting system by overseeing that all accidents, incidents, close calls and near misses relating to Health and Safety are properly reported, recorded, and investigated with a view to assuring appropriate actions are recorded.

Requirements

  • Strong administrative skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to demonstrate good planning and prioritisation to deliver work to a high standard and by the required deadline.
  • Passionate about workplace wellbeing, with a positive challenging nature.

Welsh Language Skills
