Automation Tester

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join our engineering and quality capability. This role combines hands-on manual and automated testing, supporting the delivery of high-quality software across a range of client environments.

You will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, carrying out functional and regression testing, and building automated test coverage where it adds the most value. The role suits someone who understands the full testing lifecycle and can work confidently across both manual and automated approaches., * Design, develop, and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers.

• Plan, prepare, and execute manual functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
• Create clear, well-structured test cases and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Identify, log, investigate, and retest defects, working closely with developers and stakeholders to support resolution.
• Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and quality assurance activities across projects.
• Support UAT and release readiness activities, ensuring issues are identified early and addressed appropriately.
• Embed shift-left testing practices and contribute to continuous improvement in quality processes.
• Support non-functional testing activities such as performance, accessibility, and security testing where required.
• Analyse test outcomes, trends, and recurring defects to improve quality and reduce risk.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile delivery settings., Hybrid working based in Manchester, with flexibility depending on client and project requirements. Occasional travel to client locations across UK.

Do you have experience in Test cases?, * Proven experience in software testing, with a mix of manual and automation testing.

• Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing manual test cases across functional and regression areas.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Ability to work with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to quality assurance.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable

• Experience testing APIs, web applications, or enterprise systems.
• Exposure to CI/CD environments and shift-left testing practices.
• Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing.
• Experience working in cloud-based or enterprise environments.
• Exposure to test management tools and defect tracking systems.
