Job description
Angelson Services are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database & Web Content Administrator to manage and optimise database systems and web platforms. The role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and integrity of data infrastructure, while supporting business operations through effective system and content management., The Database & Web Content Administrator will oversee the management, optimisation, and security of database systems, web platforms, and digital training environments. The role ensures system reliability, performance, and compliance, while supporting integration across operational systems., Database & Systems Management
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable database systems
- Ensure high availability, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Monitor and optimise database performance, including SQL query tuning
- Manage database security, user permissions, and data integrity
- Perform backups, restorations, and data migrations with minimal disruption
Server & Infrastructure Management
- Configure and maintain servers across Linux environments
- Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues proactively
- Ensure systems remain secure and compliant with best practice standards
- Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency and reliability
Web & Content Management
- Administer and maintain content management systems
- Manage WordPress websites, ensuring performance, security, and usability
- Maintain integration between web platforms and backend databases
Online Training & Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain online training platforms and course content
- Ensure training materials are accurate, accessible, and regularly reviewed
- Act as system administrator or super-user for operational platforms (e.g. Connecteam)
Development & Integration
- Collaborate with development teams on database design and schema optimisation
- Support implementation of new systems and integrations, including SSIS workflows
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in database administration (MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PL/SQL)
- Strong knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions
- Advanced SQL and performance tuning expertise
- Experience with Linux operating systems and server administration
- Proficiency in Shell scripting
- Experience with SSIS or similar data integration tools
- Experience managing WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Experience managing online training systems or e-learning platforms
- Experience acting as a system administrator or super-user for operational platforms (e.g. Connecteam)
- Strong understanding of database design principles

Role Requirements
- Proven experience in database administration with expertise in MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PL/SQL
- Strong knowledge of high availability architectures and disaster recovery solutions
- Proficiency in SQL query optimisation and performance tuning techniques
- Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and scripting using Bash (Unix shell) and Shell Scripting
- Familiarity with SSIS for data integration tasks
- Solid understanding of database design principles including indexing, normalisation, and schema development
- Experience with web content management systems integration with backend databases
- Knowledge of Linux server administration is essential
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing complex data environments
