Job description
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support client engagements across cloud-native and platform engineering environments. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with the opportunity to help shape cloud standards, deployment approaches, and operational best practice.
You will work closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and security teams to enable efficient delivery through automation, infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, and robust DevOps practices. The role is hybrid, based from Manchester, with regular company-paid travel to client locations as required., * Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support reliable and efficient software delivery.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform to support consistency, repeatability, and scalability.
- Implement cloud governance, guardrails, and policy controls to support security, compliance, and cost management.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define and maintain cloud architecture and platform standards.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Kubernetes and modern orchestration practices.
- Support reliability through monitoring, alerting, and automation aligned to SRE principles.
- Improve platform resilience, scalability, and availability through continuous optimisation.
- Drive DevOps best practice across automation, cloud operations, and deployment workflows.
- Work cross-functionally to deliver robust cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements., Hybrid working based in Manchester, with flexibility depending on client and project requirements. Occasional travel to client locations across UK.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer in a cloud-native environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure as a primary cloud platform.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, ideally with Terraform.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns and best practices.
- Experience implementing governance, guardrails, and cloud policies.
- Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes.
Desirable
- Experience with AWS or multi-cloud environments.
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering practices, including monitoring, SLIs/SLOs, and observability.
- Experience working in large-scale or standardised cloud environments.
- Ability to influence engineering standards and contribute to technical leadership.
