Job description

As Director (m/f/d) of AI Data Strategy & Architecture , you will play a key role in shaping how Danfoss uses data to drive digitalization and innovation across our business. You will help us build the data foundations that power trusted Analytics and AI solutions - enabling smarter decisions, stronger performance, and better experiences for colleagues and customers.

You will be the connector between business priorities, data engineering practices, and the operational readiness needed to scale AI responsibly. Your work will directly influence how we structure, govern, and activate data across the full medallion architecture, ensuring it delivers real value.

If you enjoy designing future-ready data ecosystems, translating business needs into powerful datasets, and bringing clarity to complex data environments, this is your opportunity to create meaningful impact in a highly visible and strategic role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and steer the end-to-end medallion architecture (Bronze-Silver-Gold) to ensure scalable, high-quality data foundations for Analytics, Machine Learning (ML), and AI

  • Transform business and system data into trusted, actionable datasets that support strategic decisions, digitalization initiatives, and technology development

  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and Data Engineering teams to align data models, ingestion pipelines, and platform capabilities with business and AI needs

  • Shape and maintain reusable data products and Gold-layer datasets used across BI dashboards, ML models, copilots, and LLM-based retrieval methods

  • Represent your segment in IT domain boards, advocating for business needs and ensuring data-driven requirements influence platform and system roadmaps

  • Lead data discovery and analysis across key business systems, creating clear dashboards, reports, and visual stories that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for leaders and process owners

  • Partner with business and product owners to turn complex problems into concrete AI/ML use cases, defining the required datasets, features, and success metrics so solutions can be deployed and scaled with confidence, * We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.

  • You'll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.

  • We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.

  • You'll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they're worth asking about-we think they're pretty great.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in data strategy, BI/analytics, ML/AI product ownership, or similar roles
  • Hands-on knowledge of medallion architecture
  • Practical experience working with tools such as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Fabric, or similar
  • Familiarity with AI copilots and AI/ML solution requirements
  • Experience working with industrial, engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing data
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear data models, semantic layers, and well-structured datasets (e.g. understanding the relationships between linked data)
  • Strong understanding of data transformation, normalization, aggregation, and metadata management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and IT
