Reporting To: Head of Delivery
Main Purposes of Job
To support customers using Yellowfin BI, ensuring they get maximum value from their analytics and reporting solutions.
This role is primarily customer-facing (around 80%), providing technical support and guidance, with the remaining time (20%) focused on investigating and resolving data-related issues.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both working with customers and getting hands-on with data.
Key Tasks
Be the first point of contact for customer queries and dedicated Yellowfin content creator.
Day-to-day Objectives
- Provide day-to-day support to customers using Yellowfin BI
- Troubleshoot reporting, dashboard, and data issues, remote access where necessary
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across reports and systems
- Work with SQL queries, joins, and database views to identify root causes
- Support and troubleshoot JavaScript-based reporting components
- Communicate clearly with customers to understand issues and explain solution
- Monitor the support ticket queue, update ticketing system with relevant information on either completion of call or further support required
- Escalate complex issues where required and work with internal teams
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge base articles
Requirements
- Experience supporting Business Intelligence or reporting tools (ideally Yellowfin BI or similar)
- Strong SQL skills (queries, joins, data investigation)
- Ability to troubleshoot data issues logically and methodically with a problem-solving mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with relevant stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and willingness to contribute to decisions, help others and overcome difficulties
- Remain calm under challenge, with the ability to explain their position when asked
Desirable Skills
- Qualification in Computer Science or relevant disciplines would be beneficial
- Experience with JavaScript (for reporting/customisation)
- Understanding of data modelling concepts
- Experience with APIs or integrations
- Background in analytics, reporting, or data environments, * Data analytics: 3 years (required)
