Job description

As a Services Engineer, you will support the successful deployment and integration of technical solutions at customer sites. Working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and customers, you will assist in installing, configuring, and testing high-availability systems across a range of environments, including telecom networks, data centres, and cloud platforms., The successful candidate will be required to work onsite several days per week and must hold a valid UK driving licence, as the role will involve ad hoc travel to customer sites. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required (up to 25%)., * Assist with the installation and configuration of lawful intelligence and analytics platforms

  • Participate in system integrations involving telecom network elements (e.g. DPI, probes, mediation systems)
  • Support on-site and remote deployments, ensuring solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Work alongside senior engineers to troubleshoot issues, escalate defects, and verify fixes
  • Perform system health checks, acceptance testing, and produce implementation documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of implementation progress and provide regular status updates
  • Develop understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, SIP, GTP, HTTP, Diameter, and lawful intercept standards (e.g. ETSI, CALEA)
  • Collaborate with internal R&D and QA teams to ensure solutions are deployment-ready
  • Comply with information security standards and customer confidentiality requirements
  • Provide remote technical support to customers

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, firewalls, VLANs)
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and command-line usage
  • Interest in cybersecurity, telecom infrastructure, or public safety technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (UK and internationally)
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in a customer-facing technical role
  • Willingness and eligibility to obtain Security Clearance

Case Management & SLAs

  • Ability to manage a structured workload through a customer ticketing system
  • Capable of prioritising issues (P1-P3), conducting initial technical investigations, providing regular customer updates, and resolving issues within defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframes

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Wireshark or similar packet capture tools
  • Knowledge of virtualisation (VMware, KVM) and/or containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Scripting experience (Bash, Python) for automation or log analysis
  • Understanding of telecom networks, mobile core technologies (3G/4G/5G), or ISP environments
  • Familiarity with ETSI / CALEA lawful intercept standards
  • Experience using AI productivity tools (e.g. assistants for automation, documentation, or analysis), * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
