Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure team, this team has responsibility for the Infrastructure and networks within Hugh James. Our Infrastructure team sits alongside our AI, Security and Operations, Development and Service Desk departments. The Firm is going through an exciting period of technical growth, with significant and cutting-edge technical projects., The Infrastructure Engineer will work alongside other members of the team to ensure that our infrastructure is optimised and fit for purpose., * Design, implement, and manage our IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets current and future business needs.

  • Maintain and support Microsoft Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Oversee and manage backup solutions using Veeam, ensuring data integrity and security.

  • Implement and monitor security measures to protect IT infrastructure, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.

  • Utilize monitoring solutions to proactively manage and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.

  • Collaborate with the Operations and Security team to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.

  • Support cloud infrastructure, particularly within Azure, ensuring seamless integration and operation.

  • Conduct regular system audits and generate reports to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT team members and end-users.

Requirements

In addition, you will be expected to take a proactive part in all team activities, whilst maintaining and developing your own technical knowledge in the latest developments within the world of IT Infrastructure. Experience working in a fast-paced environment is critical for this role as is time management and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team, whilst also being comfortable to work independently. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further their interest and knowledge of IT Infrastructure. As an Infrastructure Engineer you will, * Degree in an IT related discipline, or relative experience in Infrastructure roles.

  • Proficiency in network and server administration, cloud services and cyber security tools.

  • Experience of patching high availability solutions

  • Problem-solving - strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge and experience with using the following technologies is highly desirable

  • Windows Server

  • Microsoft AzureVeeam

  • Solarwinds

  • Dell and HP servers

  • Juniper Switches
