Job description

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks and endpoints, to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime across the organisation.
  • Conducting regular system audits and IT asset reviews, keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, as well as gathering data on system vulnerabilities to inform the organisation's IT strategy.
  • Go-to person for technical troubleshooting and system optimisation, with the expertise to diagnose, resolve and document incidents effectively - using data and feedback to continually improve the user experience and IT service quality.
  • Planning and executing IT infrastructure projects, working closely with teams such as operations, finance and HR to deploy, configure and maintain systems that support business goals and continuity.
  • Ensuring that IT performance insights and system health data are effectively communicated and integrated into decision-making processes, collaborating with stakeholders to set and track IT service KPIs.
  • Acting as a strong communicator and collaborator to work closely with teams across the organisation, ensuring that technical issues and resolutions are clearly articulated and that IT performance is tracked in real time against agreed service levels.

Requirements

We are inviting applications for the position of IT Technician for one of our clients in the United Kingdom. Our client is currently looking to hire a methodical and technically proficient individual capable of supporting IT infrastructure, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring the reliable day-to-day operation of hardware and software environments for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to assess potential risks and opportunities arising from any proposed technical changes or implementations., * Proven experience in IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.

  • Associate degree or advanced apprenticeship in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
  • Practical experience with network security protocols, firewall, VPN management, and cloud services such as AWS.
  • Skilled in website handling, maintenance, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Proficient in technical documentation, problem-solving, and multitasking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective user support.
  • Experience supporting healthcare IT systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and compliance with healthcare data security standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific software and secure handling of sensitive patient data.
