Job description

We're hiring a HR Business Administrator to join our Pramworld Team. If you're friendly, proactive, and enjoy supporting others, this could be a great fit for you.

Based at the Wigan store; No two days will be quite the same. One moment you might be updating HR records or refreshing a policy, the next you could be helping organise interviews and onboarding. You'll be one of the go-to people for colleague questions, offering helpful advice and making sure everyone feels supported. It's a hands-on role where you'll get involved in all parts of the business and help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Winstanleys Pramworld is a family owned independent nursey retailer that provides friendly and professional advise on baby goods.

In this role, you will liaise regularly with external contractors, as well as store and warehouse teams, to ensure business compliance is maintained. This will occasionally require travel to our Wigan warehouse and our second store in Stoke-on-Trent.

Main duties

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including employee data within Evalu8
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and other HR documentation
  • Produce reports as required
  • Post job adverts and coordinate interviews
  • Review, update, and maintain Health & Safety assessments and logs
  • Act as first point of contact for day-to-day queries relating to policies, holidays, and absence
  • Track and maintain records for training logs, annual reviews, and one-to-one meetings
  • Collate and finalise payroll information
  • Ensure all mandatory employee documentation is collected, recorded, and up to data
  • Review, update, and issue new versions of company policies
  • Help coordinate staff events, celebrations, and Employee of the Month initiatives
  • Work closely with the Director to support business and people objectives
  • Identify and suggest improvements to HR processes and administrative practices
  • Provide flexible support to other departments
  • Assist with disciplinary and absence management processes
  • Manage staff ordering requirements and employee expenses

Requirements

  • GDPR knowledge
  • Experience in HR administration or a busy admin role (HR desirable)
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident using systems and Microsoft Office and excel
  • Clear, friendly and professional communicator
  • Discreet and reliable ensuring confidentiality
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Minute taking
  • Letter writing
  • CIPD Level 5/ Associate Diploma in People Management (or working towards) desirable, * Administrative: 2 years (preferred)
