Job description

As a member of the IT Operations Team the post holder will have a focus on ensuring the delivery of highly performing, reliable, responsive and resilient IT and Telephony services at all operational sites throughout the East Midlands., * Working in Desktop and Field engineer support capacities, working closely with 3rd party partners or colleagues to resolve incidents, service requests and problems

  • Carry out regular operational checks and activity to proactively reduce the risk of incidents impacting the operation of the IT & Telecoms services. This will include carrying out preventative maintenance
  • Maintain an accurate and timely record of all reported incidents, workarounds and resolutions within the DHU Service Desk toolset
  • Adhere to all processes and procedures for the delivery of secure and reliable IT & Telecoms services including Incident, Problem and Change Management processes
  • The role will primarily be focused on managing, maintaining, troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to end user computing, including telephony and mobile telephony equipment at multiple DHU locations throughout the East Midlands
  • Desktop, desktop infrastructure, fixes and mobile telephony management, maintenance and fault resolution.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of end computing issues
  • Contribute to the development of adequate arrangements for the operation of IT & Telecoms services. This includes reviewing documentation, preparing documentation and contributing to the development of technical solutions
  • Deal with any software or hardware installation requests
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required from time to time

Requirements

  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an IT related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience/Good working knowledge of desktop hardware, operating systems and applications software
  • Accurately follow documented procedures
  • Knowledge of Telephony software - for example Mitel/CXone ( Desirable )
