Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer / 2nd Line Support Engineer / Field IT Engineer to support a UK-wide healthcare IT environment.

You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, clinical systems, and end-user technology across multiple sites. This includes both remote IT support and on-site field engineering, ensuring high availability of systems critical to patient care.

This role is ideal for someone with strong Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and Active Directory experience, looking to work in a multi-site, healthcare-focused environment., * Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support (remote and on-site across UK locations)

  • Install, configure, and support Windows devices, laptops, desktops, and peripherals
  • Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure including Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and switches
  • Support clinical systems (EPR / electronic patient record systems) and integrated medical devices
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control in line with GDPR and cybersecurity policies
  • Deliver IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, rollouts, and hardware refreshes
  • Maintain accurate IT asset management and technical documentation
  • Provide technical support to clinical and operational teams to ensure safe patient care delivery
  • Travel nationally to support multi-site IT infrastructure and deployments

Requirements

You are a skilled 2nd Line IT Support Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer / Field Engineer with strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in 2nd line IT support or similar infrastructure role
  • Strong experience with Windows OS and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management
  • Experience supporting networks (LAN/Wi-Fi/VPN/firewalls)
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical clinical and operational users
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and GDPR
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationally
