Information Governance Officer

You will manage a caseload of Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and Subject Access Requests (SARs) from receipt through to response. The focus is on ensuring all requests are handled lawfully, accurately, and within statutory deadlines.

This is a hands-on, frontline role where you will work closely with internal departments to gather information, apply exemptions, and draft clear and compliant responses., * Manage a caseload of FOI, EIR, and SAR requests from start to finish

• Gather information from relevant service areas and review responses
• Apply exemptions and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
• Draft and issue responses within statutory timescales
• Maintain accurate records and support reporting and performance monitoring
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and escalate complex cases where required

• Proven experience handling FOI, EIR, and/or SAR requests
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
• Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines

Desirable:

• Experience within local government or the public sector
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOIA, and EIR
• Experience working in a high-volume casework or regulatory environment, * handling FOI, EIR, and/or SAR requests: 1 year (required)
