Job description

  • Customs Automation: Design and implement an engine to generate CMR, T1/T2, and Rules of Origin documentation aligned with HMRC and EU requirements.
  • API Integration: Lead the programmatic submission of declarations by integrating directly with HMRC's Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
  • Platform Architecture: Build and maintain the core Arexam customer portal, driver dispatch interface, and operations dashboard using a modern full-stack (e.g., Node.js/Python/React).
  • Compliance Tooling: Develop real-time monitoring for driver tachograph and working-time compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Logistics Intelligence: Create job allocation and routing algorithms that account for border wait times, ferry schedules, and freight restrictions.
  • E-commerce Connectivity: Design APIs for Amazon Seller Central, eBay, and Shopify to automate cross-border fulfillment and returns.
  • Financial Integration: Sync platform data with FreeAgent for automated invoicing and correct VAT treatment for international consignments.
  • AI Implementation: Integrate AI-assisted document recognition to extract data from scanned commercial invoices and packing lists.

Requirements

We are seeking a specialist Full-Stack Developer who thrives at the intersection of software engineering and operational logistics. You won't just be writing code; you will be architecting a platform that handles real-world regulatory complexity. We need someone with a Bachelor's degree (RQF Level 6) and at least 3 years of experience who understands the nuances of HMRC integrations and international freight workflows., * Technical: Full-stack expertise (React, Node.js, Python), REST API design, and experience with Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of post-Brexit customs (HMRC CDS, Windsor Framework, commodity codes).
  • E-commerce: Proven experience with marketplace APIs (Amazon SP-API, Shopify).
  • Minimums: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering; 3+ years' post-grad experience.
