Job description
We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to join a founder-led business group and help build a range of internal and commercial software products.
This role will involve leading the development of new SaaS-style platforms, data-driven tools, dashboards, workflow systems, and AI-enabled automation products. You will also help develop tools for our established businesses, including reporting dashboards, operational systems, and automated workflows/agents that improve efficiency and decision-making.
This is not a standard developer role. We want someone who can take ideas and business goals and turn them into practical, scalable products. You will play a key role in shaping architecture, systems, development standards, and the overall technical direction, while working closely with the founder and a second developer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and architecture of new internal and commercial software products
- Translate business ideas into structured development plans and phased deliverables
- Define the stack, coding standards, architecture, and development approach
- Build core systems across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure
- Develop dashboards, workflow tools, internal systems, and AI-enabled process automation
- Help create reporting and operational tools for established businesses within the group
- Manage the codebase, deployment process, environments, and release structure
- Review and oversee the work of a second developer
- Ensure products are secure, scalable, maintainable, and well structured
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively to improve delivery speed where appropriate
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Full-Stack Developer, Technical Lead, or similar senior hands-on role
- Proven track record building software products, internal systems, or tools from scratch
- Strong knowledge of frontend, backend, databases, cloud deployment, and system architecture
- Experience with dashboards, portals, workflow systems, admin tools, or automation platforms
- Comfortable making technical decisions and taking ownership of delivery
- Able to work directly with a founder and convert high-level ideas into practical solutions
- Strong communication skills and able to explain technical thinking clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with data platforms, ETL, reporting systems, or business intelligence tools
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar
- Experience with workflow automation, internal tools, or agent-based systems
- Experience in a founder-led or fast-moving business environment
- Experience developing multi-user SaaS products or internal operational platforms
