Job description

We're a small team that cares a lot about how things are built, not just that they get built. This role is for someone who enjoys thinking deeply about problems, working with real data, and building systems that are clean, scalable, and well thought-out.

You'll work across both frontend and backend, using modern tools (React, Vite, JavaScript), while also getting hands-on exposure to DevOps and deployment workflows. You'll be trusted to take ownership of your work and contribute meaningfully from early on.

This is a 12-month contract role, with a review at the end of the term and a strong possibility of extension or renewal based on performance and team needs.

What you'll be doing: You'll work across the stack. Building frontend with React and modern JS tooling, designing and integrating APIs and backend services, and getting hands-on with how things actually run in production. You'll have an input on most aspects of the system working with the team to create the best solution.

Requirements

1 year or more of experience, we care more about how you think than how long you've been at it. You should have solid JavaScript fundamentals and real experience with React (or something similar). Beyond that: you break problems down logically, you think in terms of data and systems, and you write code that the next person will actually be able to read.

Benefits & conditions

What the role actually looks like: We'll take the time to get you properly up to speed on the business, how we work, why things are the way they are. Once you've got your bearings, you'll contribute across the stack rather than being kept in a narrow lane.

We work in a simple sprint-based rhythm. No heavy Agile ceremony, just developers deciding what needs doing and getting on with it. It's a relaxed environment with high standards where it matters, and no appetite for politics or performative busyness.

Working pattern:

Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 remote)

How to stand out: Show us something real. A side project you thought through properly, a problem you actually solved, code you're proud of. We'll ask you to walk us through your thinking that's usually where we learn the most.
